About Us

John and Caroline Omalu

John Omalu Foundation (JOF) is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to promoting and expanding the philanthropic legacy established by the late Omalu patriarch, Engineer John Omalu.

Our father, John Donatus Amaechi Omalu, believed in the inherent dignity of every individual and worked tirelessly to uphold and restore that dignity one person at a time. He encouraged self-empowerment and self-fulfillment through initiatives in child and youth education, health promotion, women empowerment, community building, and more. The John Omalu Foundation was established to build upon these values that defined his life. We are united as one body, one spirit, and one hope, bound together by peace—believing that every act of kindness, even for the least among us, benefits us all.

He was particularly passionate about the welfare of the people of Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State, Nigeria. He provided free education for indigent children and access to portable water, built and rehabilitated homes for the poor and elderly, and economically empowered many individuals.

The Foundation aims to identify and overcome obstacles that prevent people from achieving economic strength and living fulfilling lives. JOF transforms these insights into sustainable projects, including public health programs, formal and informal education initiatives, poverty alleviation through the empowerment of women, men, and youth, the promotion of positive moral values among our youth, and infrastructural development projects.
