Enugwu – Ukwu Story Project

Enugwu – Ukwu is a village in Anambra State, Nigeria. It was one of the villages affected by the aftermath of the Nigerian civil war. With different members of the community being either displaced or experiencing some kind of loss, thus the Enugwu – Ukwu project was created. The project aims to collate stories and to preserve the cultural heritage of the community.

School Library

Quality education is challenging for many growing countries, partly because governments struggle to invest in effective school libraries. As vital knowledge hubs for students and teachers, well-equipped libraries are crucial for achieving literacy and numeracy goals. To support this, the John Omalu Foundation enhanced capacity at St. Anthony’s Group of Schools by providing a diverse range of child-friendly textbooks and learning materials.

Eye Health Care

Blindness and visual impairment are prevalent in Nigeria, with inequitable access to eye care services. Primary Eye Care (PEC) efforts have been largely donor-dependent and unsustainable due to challenges within the Primary Health Care (PHC) system.
In collaboration with Nest One, the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), Optimus Primecare, and the Enugwu-Ukwu Autonomous Community, we achieved the following: conducted eye consultations for 110 people, provided glasses for 30 individuals, and performed 13 free eye surgeries.
